1. Introduction
In recent years, as work related to university internationalization, the fostering of globally-minded talent, and international student recruitment increases, attention is being drawn to the failure to keep up with the evolution of international admissions, the internationalization of the campus environment and of the curriculum, and analysis of the outcomes of study abroad. Training and development for the faculty and administrative staff tasked with moving this work ahead is also a pressing challenge.
We at RECSIE held a training session last year for the faculty and administrative staff whose work underpins university internationalization. This year’s training, the second such session, will welcome Darla Deardorff, Executive Director of AIEA, as a guest speaker, and bring together participants from throughout Japan and abroad. Over the course of various workshops and sessions, participants will exchange views on the nature of professionals and professionalism in the field of international education. An additional goal of the conference is to build networks of personal contact which span the boundaries between individual universities.
This conference not only offers the opportunity to learn and acquire knowledge and expertise on specific topics, but also promotes collaborative learning through working together on practical tasks.
＜OPENING SEMINARS＞
Participants will choose to attend one of two seminars on the first day.
＜WORKSHOPS: 6 HOURS / TOPIC＞
Workshops will be offered on topics such as cross-cultural understanding and international student recruitment. Participants can choose up to two workshops, however we encourage you to take one workshop and to also take part in several of the shorter sessions offered. Workshops A, C, and D will be conducted in Japanese, Workshop B will be conducted in English.

90-minute sessions will be held on a wide variety of topics (there is also one 180-minute session). Participants can choose the sessions (either 3 or 4) they wish to attend at the time of registration.

- Entry fee is FREE for those participating only on 26th, August.
- Lunch fee (500 yen each day for the 27th and 28th) and Reception Fee 4,000 yen (on the night of the 26th) will be charged separately.
- There is an approximate fee of 4,000 yen to join the optional networking event on the night of 27th August.

6. Important Notes
- Please check the program schedule and select one seminar and one workshop theme (from theme A-D, up to two workshops) when registering. Also, please ensure that the sessions of your choice do not overlap (chose from①～⑩ on both days). You can choose up to four individual sessions.
- Although the institute will run in accordance with the contents described in the program schedule, please be aware that some of the contents may be changed due to unforeseen circumstances.
7. Directions to the Venue
Nanzan University (18 Yamazato-cho, Showa-ku, Nagoya 466-8673 Japan)
- Take the Meijo subway line to Yagoto Nisseki station or Nagoya University Station. It is an 8 minute walk.
